Elephanta Caves
On the island of Elephanta it is one of the most interesting monuments of India V- VIII centuries. It is a complex of cave temples, or "City of Caves", carved into the rock and dedicated to the cult of the god Shiva. In 1987, the cave temples of Elephanta Island joined the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites.
